DEVOIS DES AGNEAUX
CHATEAU VALOUSSIERE
THE AUDACITY OF LANGUEDOC
“Secluded in a place where shepherds used to shelter from the wind, the Jeanjeans have pioneered and cleared new terroirs in this insolent beauty. Vignerons magazine
Château Valoussière, also known as Devois des Agneaux, is all about the family’s audacity. This 15th-century estate, bought by the family in 1936, has written some of Languedoc’s greatest wine chapters, with convivial moments under the chestnut trees, accompanied by barbecued prime rib. This originally hostile limestone terroir is now a 16-hectare vineyard planted with Syrahs and Grenaches, alongside the former sheepfold converted into a winery.
